Neil Waddington has 40+ years in classroom teaching and consulting (DipT BEd SACAE + twice over Advanced Skills Teacher and special education).

Neil's wife, Jean Waddington, is a three times Advanced Skills Teacher, specialising in junior, middle and upper primary teaching, school library and technology resource management as well as the Aboriginal student and personnel coordinator currently based at Goolwa Primary School.

Neil created Australia's first ever combined standardised reading and spelling tests in 1988. Now in their third edition, his tests are highly acclaimed, used by thousands of schools across Australia, the South pacific and other countries across the globe whereever English is important. The Waddington tests are recognised for their outstanding validity and reliability for straight-forward assessment and diagnosis of children, including their reading and spelling ages.
